AERIAL STRENGTH CLASSES "TRX" (NOT YOGA!!! :) Aerial Strength:(Very similar to TRX but with more advanced straps) Aerial Strength & Aerial Yoga are very different!!! In our strength class the swings come down and the straps go up! This class is fun, upbeat, & energizing. Aerial Strength is a total body workout incorporating body resistance work from the suspension of the straps hanging from the ceiling. Through aerobic movement & strength/toning exercises using your own body's resistance this class can be as hard or as easy as you make it. The strength & cardio methods increase core power, stamina/endurance, tone/build muscles, and can burn over 800 calories per class! (you may want to bring Workout Gloves for your hands) Aerial Strength is for ALL fitness levels and goals and is the perfect cross-training compliment to a yoga practice, toning and stretching every muscle in your body.
How does it differ from TRX? Aerial Strength's straps have 3 varying lengths of handle bars, hanging from two separate anchoring points; offering an increased variety of exercises.
Aerial Strength Fusion (Inversion is optional) We understand that inverting/hanging upside down from a swing, isn't for everyone:) All classes end with some refreshing stretching to lengthen the muscles we just worked. Some students will leave at the end of class, happy & satisfied of course ;-), or you also have the opportunity to stay for a mini inversion session (5-10min) to lengthen the spine & decompress the mind!
Inversion Can Help with Workout Recovery Encourage Muscle Development The process of building muscle occurs when muscle fibers are torn down and replaced with more and better cells. After a workout, thousands of destroyed cells need to be trucked away to make room for new growth. Inversion helps to increase lymph flow, which gets rid of the wastes more rapidly and allows the body to focus on building new muscle tissue.
Reduce Pain in Overworked Muscles Athletes prone to stiffness or muscle spasms after a workout can benefit from the lymphatic wash provided by inversion. Intense muscle activities cause a build up of large amounts of lactic acid and carbon dioxide, which results in sore muscles. The faster this waste is cleared, the faster the pain and stiffness disappear.
Reduce Stress on Body After a Workout During a high-impact workout, your joints and especially discs will lose fluid, resulting in a temporary height loss of up to 0.5" - 0.75"! Inversion has been proven to increase intervertebral separation, which reduces the pressure on the discs and helps them to re-hydrate. Decompressed joints are able to recover faster for better shock absorption and reduced pain.
